Training in Applied and Action Research

As part of professional Growth, NISSU trains her members in implementing action and applied research in the area of infrastructure planning, development, operation and evaluation. NISSU therefore provides specialised training in applied research. The objectives of research are to:

  • Provide training in theory and practice thereby bridging the gap between ‘actionless thoughts’ and ‘thoughtless action’
  • Provide practical knowledge and skills to members in the field of research methodology, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Provide an opportunity to evaluate the socio-economic impact of previously developed infrastructure projects, either through practical support or funding opportunities
  • Generate evidence-based material for curriculum and learning process

The priority research topics are presented in the Online Training Resource
